Operation “Jupiter 4” continues: more than 300 searches in the country to break up economic crime networks

The “Jupiter” action continues on Thursday, for the fourth day, with more than 300 home search warrants being implemented, aimed at breaking up some networks specialized in economic-financial crimes and criminality. The total damage estimated in the instrumented files exceeds 220 million lei.

“Under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, as part of the “JUPITER 4″ Operation, during today, November 6, 2025, 57 operative actions are being carried out, during which 304 home searches take place in several counties of the country”, transmitted, on Thursday, the General Prosecutor's Office.
The instrumented files concern fraud crimes with particularly serious consequences, money laundering, tax evasion, illegal obtaining of funds, the creation of an organized criminal group, embezzlement, abuse of trust by defrauding creditors, fraudulent bankruptcy, qualified smuggling, possession or carrying without the right of weapons not subject to authorization, counterfeiting, illegal access to an IT system, abuse of office, forgery in documents under private signature, forgery in statements, intellectual forgery, computer forgery, use of forgery, material forgery in official documents, crimes regarding the waste regime, the execution of mining activities without a permit or license, cutting trees without the right, theft of trees, entering, modifying or deleting computer data in the integrated information system for forests, trafficking in products or toxic substances, unjustified refusal to present legal documents to the competent bodies and crimes under the gambling regime.
The prosecutors specify that the actions are aimed at the destruction of networks specialized in economic-financial crimes and criminality, responsible for a damage of 221,850,000 lei.
“Another objective is the interruption of illegal activities that bring significant damage to the state budget and affect the proper functioning of strategic economic sectors. The 304 home searches are also aimed at identifying the persons involved, collecting accounting documents and relevant evidence, as well as stopping the development of criminal activities and stopping illegal financial flows. The aim is also to establish insurance measures to recover the damage created. Equally measure, the operation contributes to the consolidation of a fair competitive environment and to ensuring transparency in the formation of prices, by preventing and sanctioning illegal economic practices that can distort the fairness of the market”the prosecutors also specified.
