20 February 13:20

A six-month-old girl with burns from a heater was rescued at the Krasnoyarsk Regional Clinical Hospital.

As the press service of the institution said, her crib was too close to the device. The child fell into the gap between the side and the heater and suffered serious skin damage in a few seconds.

For a six-month-old girl, burns of such an area became a very difficult ordeal. To close the wounds and give the skin a chance to recover without severe scarring, doctors had to perform skin graft surgery. The flap was taken from the thigh.

“For the doctors, this was a jewelry process: it was necessary to take exactly as much as needed for both the “donor” site to heal and the transplanted tissue to take root in the new place,” the hospital wrote.

Now the child is recovering, doctors are preparing documents for discharge. Scars should become almost invisible with age.

The hospital reminds parents: the crib should not be placed close to heaters.
