The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, stated, in an interview granted to Digi FM, that even in the event that Ukraine obtains a peace agreement favorable to it, Russia's hybrid war will continue, the targets being the states in its vicinity, but not only them.

Maia Sandu claims that Moscow's threat should not be evaluated strictly from the perspective of the situations on the Russian-Ukrainian front.

“We must be aware that, even in the situation where the peace agreement will be a good one for Ukraine, in any case Russia will not give up its efforts to intervene, to influence, to try to take control over the states in the region and not only”, said the President of Moldova.

She estimated that Moscow would continue, regardless of the outcome of the war, to try to bring to power politicians who would be favorable to it.

“Because what Russia is doing in other countries is trying to influence the elections, so that pro-Russian politicians come to power (…) When there are pro-Russian politicians in power in different countries, then it is easier for Russia to promote its interests”, Sandu appreciated.

The president of Moldova said that a coalition of threatened countries is needed to fight Russia's hybrid war in a coordinated manner.

“That's why we have to prepare for the fact that this cognitive war and hybrid war in general will be a lasting problem,” Maia Sandu said.
