Massimo Moratti (80), former president of Inter, gave an interview in Italy where he discussed the current situation of the team and coach Cristi Chivu (45).
Moratti knows Chivu well, being the one who brought him to Milan in 2007, from AS Roma. The former manager from Inter declared himself surprised by the Romanian's progress on the bench of the Narazzurri, 8 months after Cristi took over the Milan formation.
Asked about Saturday's derby between Inter and Juventus (9:45 p.m.), Moratti said that Chivu's team is looking good at the moment, with confidence in the game.
Massimo Moratti: “Chivu is much better than I expected”
“It's difficult to say who will win, it's a derby. At the moment Inter seems to me to be a well settled, strong and calm team. Chivu brought safety to the team, he is much better than I expected.
He had already proven himself to be a champion of character. However, I did not expect him to turn this quality into an ability to manage the group that he has now. It's just really goodMoratti said on Radio Radio in Italy.
Inter is the leader in Serie A, with 58 points after 23 stages. Chivu's team has 12 points over Juventus, occupying the 4th place.

Moratti: “Lautaro would fit in any Inter team”
The former Inter president was also asked about Lautaro Martinez, who has just equaled Boninsegna as the club's top scorer with 171 goals.
“He is a good player, he can be integrated into any team in the history of Inter. He has a different style to other players, but he is undoubtedly a footballer who can find his place anywhere,” said Massimo Moratti.
