Circumstances have been established to tighten the sentences of those who slandered ex-State Duma deputy Sergei Natarov, said his lawyer Alexander Khropot.

“Denis Bundyuk (accountant of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia) and Sergei Sidenko (director of the supplier company Resurs LLC), who pleaded guilty and were convicted by the Igarsk City Court, entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement, according to which they slandered Sergei Natarov, his son Anton and other persons, in court hearings on February 11 and 13 did not agree with the amount of damage caused by the crimes,” said Khropot.

They stated in court that they did not recognize the claims of the victims, that is, they did not agree with the amount of damage. Thus, the lawyer said, these two persons did not fulfill their obligations under the pre-trial cooperation agreements.

“According to the criminal procedural law, the prosecutor must initiate the reversal of sentences against these persons, who were sentenced under a special lenient procedure, and resume a new trial against them,” said lawyer Alexander Khropot.

In exchange for giving false testimony, Sidenko received a suspended sentence of a possible 15 years. Bundyuk was sentenced to 5 years of real imprisonment, but after 4 months he was released from the colony.
