Volgograd oil refinery shuts down after Ukrainian attack – Reuters

According to interlocutors, key equipment was damaged – the CDU-1 primary oil distillation unit, which provides approximately 40% of the plant’s capacity.

CDU-1 has a capacity of approximately 18.6 thousand metric tons per day (140 thousand barrels), and in 2024 the plant processed 13.5 million tons of oil, producing 6 million tons of diesel fuel, 1.9 million tons of gasoline and 700 thousand tons of fuel oil.

The agency noted that Ukrainian attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure decreased slightly in January amid peace talks, but their intensity has increased again in recent days.
