The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation proposed sending bullies to special schools

6 February 13:30
It was proposed to send the organizers and participants of school bullying to specialized educational institutions, reports IrkutskMedia news agency. The initiative was taken by the first deputy head of the commission for education and training of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Armen Gasparyan.
“Students must understand that bullying is unacceptable. And if someone is not able to understand, then this must be explained to him in other institutions. This will be more than fair,” Gasparyan said.
At the same time, the first deputy head of the commission for education and training of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation noted that such measures must be accompanied by comprehensive work. We are talking about the development of social advertising, increasing the responsibility of teachers, etc.
The proposal met with mixed reactions. Human rights activists fear that the creation of special schools could provoke even greater violence among teenagers. According to experts, without individual work and rehabilitation, isolation can worsen the problem of bullying in educational institutions.
Let us remind you that now the Ministry of Education of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and law enforcement officials are looking into two high-profile cases of aggression in schools in Kodinsk and Krasnoyarsk, where students attacked classmates and teachers. Comprehensive inspections are carried out in institutions and all the circumstances of the incident are established.
In addition, on behalf of Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, work with teachers and children, document checks, and preventive work with students will be carried out in all schools in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. School leaders will be sent instructions to eliminate all identified deficiencies.
“We need to systematically understand how educational and preventive work with children is organized, how safety requirements are met, how the mechanism for responding to any teenage conflicts is built. You cannot be indifferent and ignore cases of bullying – this often turns into a tragedy,” the governor said.
