The President of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, stated on Sunday, at the Forum of Romanian entrepreneurs from the diaspora organized at the Parliament Palace, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must also have a component dedicated to foreign trade, reports Agerpres.
“In the future AUR government, which must come as soon as possible, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not only be handled by diplomats and it will not be only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We must have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Because economic relations, especially in these years, are the most important. (…) I will link, and you are already doing it, the two worlds, the two countries, the adoptive country and Romania. Romanian products must reach the communities you can Romanians from abroad. Thanks to some brave people, thanks to some hardworking people, this is happening. It can happen even more, and the state must intervene,” said George Simion, quoted in a press release by AUR.
According to the same source, the president of the Commission for Entrepreneurship and Tourism in the Chamber of Deputies, AUR deputy Mohammad Murad, claimed that, although those from the Romanian diaspora make a significant contribution to the national economy, the rulers did not offer them anything in return.
“You brought in almost 20 billion euros year after year, 12 billion sent to relatives and us (…) when I started to write down what Romania did for you, I sat and thought, maybe, I say, I'm not well informed, I looked on the net to see if he ever made any gesture and I saw only one thing. They knock on your door only when they need votes”, said deputy Mohammad Murad.
The president of the AUR Diaspora organization, deputy Ramona Lovin, announced that legislative proposals will be submitted to reduce bureaucracy and support Romanian entrepreneurs from the diaspora who want to return home in a predictable fiscal environment that encourages investments, the press release also mentions.
