Rapper Wiz Khalifa, pursued by the Romanian Police

Rapper Wiz Khalifa, sentenced definitively to nine months in prison with execution after smoking a cannabis cigarette on the stage of the Beach, Please festival in Costineşti, was put under general investigation by the Romanian Police.

Thomaz Cameron Jibril, known as Wiz Khalifa, appears on the website of the Romanian Police in the category of wanted persons, as there is a warrant for the execution of the prison sentence in his name for crimes under the regime of narcotics, notes News.ro.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa was sentenced, at the end of last year, by the Constanța Court of Appeal, to nine months in prison with execution for possession of dangerous drugs, after smoking a cannabis cigarette on the stage of the Beach Please festival in Costineşti, in 2024.

Wiz Khalifa appealed this spring, unsuccessfully, the decision of the Constanța Court of Appeal, so the sentence to 9 months in prison remained final.

Sentenced at first instance to a criminal fine only

In the spring of last year, the Constanța Court had decided that Wiz Khalifa should be sentenced to a criminal fine of 3,600 lei, but the decision was challenged by the DIICOT prosecutors at the Constanța Court of Appeal.

Wiz Khalifa was sent to court in October 2024, for possession of dangerous drugs, without the right, for his own consumption.

The police were notified after he lit a joint on the stage of the Beach, Please festival in Costinești. Wiz Khalifa was then picked up by the Romanian police, immediately after the concert on the night of July 13 to 14, 2024, and taken to hearings.

According to the police, Wiz Khalifa “possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis (a dangerous drug) and consumed (on stage) another amount of cannabis, in the form of a craft cigarette.”

According to the law, in Romania, cultivating, producing, manufacturing, experimenting, extracting, preparing, transforming, buying or possessing dangerous drugs for personal consumption, without the right, is punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 2 years or a fine.
