The Minister of Energy from Moldova, Dorin Junghietu, thanked Romania and Ukraine for the help given in the context of today's massive power outages. For approximately four hours, several localities in the Republic of Moldova remained without electricity on Saturday, informs News.ro.
“We would like to thank the operators of the electricity system in Romania and Ukraine for their cooperation and ample support in overcoming this situation. In the same way, I want to thank the consumers of the Republic of Moldova for their understanding and for all the support you have given to overcome this situation. Thank you very much!” said Dorin Junghietu.
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Energy, the process of restoring the electricity supply in the transport system was completed by 15:40 on the entire territory of the state, desdechi.md notes.
“Today's incident shows how important are the interconnections with Romania that we are currently working on, Bălţi – Suceava, Străşeni – Gutinaş and, of course, Vulcăneşti – Chişinău”, the minister added.
At the present moment, the National Electric Power System operates within normal parameters, the consumption of electricity falls within the limits of the forecasted values, without the need to use emergency electricity.
Igor Grosu blames Russia
The President of the Parliament of Moldova, Igor Grosu, reacted to the blackout situation in the country.
“Today's incident shows, once again, how important it is to build strong institutions and invest in our energy independence. Today, some of us were in the dark for a few hours. Ukrainians have been living this reality for almost four years due to Russia's brutal war against Ukraine. The Kremlin regime is destroying lives and hitting civilian infrastructure, leaving people in the cold and in the dark every day. Therefore, let us be grateful and always cherish peace and tranquility that we have in our homes.
We thank all those who, these days, are involved and do everything possible so that we have light and heat in our homes, those who ensure that the roads remain passable and those who take care of our safety and security. Thank you”, wrote Igor Grosu in a message posted on Facebook.
