Why is silver more expensive? Raw materials rally
“There is a visible move towards raw materials on the market, the question is what are the reasons for this. On the one hand, it is said to be an effect of a weaker dollar, but there may also be a speculative factor in it. When we look at the fundamentals, I have the impression that the scale of increases we have seen in silver in recent weeks is speculation that is starting to spread,” Konrad Ryczko, broker and analyst at DM BOŚ, told PAP Biznes.
He estimates that silver has partially followed gold, which has been breaking records recently. “Besides, it (silver – ed.) has some industrial importance, but these recent increases are not a matter of fundamentals. Within a few weeks, silver has increased by several dozen percent, and nothing has changed fundamentally,” he added.
