RN-Vankor has begun winter delivery of cargo along the Northern Sea Route and winter roads to the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This season it is planned to transport almost 1 million tons of cargo.

Six sea vessels were involved to deliver them along the Northern Sea Route during the winter navigation period. Icebreaker assistance is provided by two icebreakers. The main logistics hubs for receiving and unloading ships are three production bases in Taimyr, sea berths in the port of Sever Bay, as well as fast ice at the Vorontsovo and Karaul bases.

The range of delivered goods includes metal structures, pipe and cable products, reinforced concrete products, building materials, technological equipment, specialized equipment and vehicles. These resources are necessary for the construction and operation of oil production and hydrocarbon transportation facilities.

Winter roads perform not only a production, but also a social function. They serve as a vital transport artery for the indigenous inhabitants of Taimyr and help nomadic reindeer herders maintain their traditional way of life. Thanks to these routes, tundra settlements are provided with food and basic necessities.

Delivery of goods that arrived during the summer navigation period at the MTR bases, as well as those delivered year-round along the Northern Sea Route, is carried out along winter roads and ice crossings across rivers with a total length of over 2 thousand km. More than a thousand specialists and about 460 pieces of equipment are involved in laying winter roads.

Auto routes connect key production facilities in the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets, Turukhansky districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. More than 2 thousand units of cargo equipment are used on the winter roads, which this year will have to transport more than 800 thousand tons of material and technical resources.
