The YouTube channel “Dmitry Gordon” published an interview with the editor-in-chief of the publication “GORDON” Alesya Batsman with Russian businessman Evgeny Chichvarkin, who lives in London.
In an interview, Batsman and Chichvarkin discussed:
- the probable location of the illegitimate president of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin;
- preparation of the Kremlin for the parade on May 9;
- the behavior of Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak;
- what needs to happen for Russians to become capable of rebellion.
“Sobchak was always allowed a little more than others. And when she swims behind the buoys, the cops rush in and imprison the whole team,” Chichvarkin said.
Chichvarkin was born in 1974 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). In 1996 he graduated from the State Academy of Management in Moscow (now the State University of Management). While still studying, he went into business.
In 1997, together with a friend, he created the Euroset company, which over time became the largest Russian cellular retailer. In 2008, Russian security forces raided the company's central office while investigating the kidnapping of a former Euroset freight forwarder, whom the company's security service had accused of stealing phones. In the same year, Chichvarkin and his partner sold Euroset. The businessman flew to the UK, where he still lives. In the Russian Federation, a criminal case was opened against Chichvarkin. In 2009, Russia put the businessman on the international wanted list. The case against him was closed in 2011.
In September 2025, a court in Moscow arrested Chichvarkin in absentia on suspicion of spreading so-called fakes about the Russian army and evading the duties of a “foreign agent,” Radio Liberty reported.
In the UK, Chichvarkin is engaged in business; he has a wine store, Hedonism Wines, in London.
