In Krasnoyarsk, a man was fined 20 thousand for falsely accusing a hardware store of deception. This was reported by the joint press service of the regional court.
A young man purchased a new iPhone 16 Pro through an online store worth almost 160 thousand rubles to give it to his girlfriend. Having received the order at the pick-up point, due to financial difficulties, he immediately took the smartphone to a pawnshop, receiving 90 thousand rubles for it.
To hide the fact of selling the gift from the girl, he contacted the police department. In the statement, he indicated that he had become a victim of scammers – supposedly there was nothing in the box instead of a phone. At the same time, the man signed with his own hand that he was warned about criminal liability for false denunciation.
During the investigation, the police established the real chain of events. Investigators found evidence of the voluntary sale of the phone to a pawn shop, including a receipt and a copy of the defendant’s driver’s license.
The court found him guilty under the article of knowingly false denunciation.
