

The American president was asked whether he would approve of such an offer from Putin as an entrance fee to the Peace Council.

Trump suggested that countries wishing to have a permanent seat on the Peace Council on Gaza issues contribute at least $1 billion, Bloomberg reported. Critics fear that the US president is trying to create an alternative to the UN and concentrate control over finances and decisions in one hand.
The media wrote that Trump formed the first executive team, which includes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, son-in-law of the head of the White House Jared Kushner and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The Financial Times reported that Trump wants to create the same “peace council” for Ukraine. The group will include representatives from Ukraine, Europe, NATO and the aggressor country Russia, who will monitor and guarantee the implementation of a potential peace agreement.
On January 22, Trump signed a document establishing the Peace Council at the World Economic Forum in Davos. His signed the charter about 20 countries.
Some countries rejected Trump's invitation, in particular – France.
