Iran denies that new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is injured. “It's no problem, you'll see soon” – VIDEO

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, assured on Saturday that there is no problem with the new supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, after the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, said on Friday that he was injured and is probably disfigured, EFE and Agerpres news agencies inform.

“You will surely see soon, I suppose, that there is no problem with the new supreme leader. He delivered his message yesterday and he will fulfill his duties. He is fulfilling his duties according to the Constitution and will continue to do so,” Abbas Araqchi said in an interview with MS Now news channel.

“I think at this point it should have been clear and it should be public knowledge that our system is deeply rooted in society. The Islamic Republic is a system that does not depend on any person or any group of people. It is well founded,” the foreign minister claimed.

The head of Iranian diplomacy downplayed the credibility of Hegseth's statements, in which he claimed that the new supreme leader is wounded.

“Well, they made a lot of statements like that. Yesterday they said that all the Iranian authorities are in bunkers. At the same time, the whole world saw our president, the speaker of the Parliament, everybody.”

“There are many accusations of this type,” he concluded.

Iran benefits from “military cooperation” from Russia and China

Asked about the hypothetical help of Russia or China to the Iranian intelligence services, Araqchi replied that Russia and China are Iran's “strategic partners”.

“We have maintained close cooperation in the past, which continues, including military cooperation,” he claimed.

However, he added that he would not go into details in this regard.

The representative of Iran wanted to clarify in the interview with the American press that this is not his country's war.

“This is a war imposed against us. We did not start this war. It was an unprovoked, unjustified and illegal act of aggression against us and we are only defending ourselves,” the Iranian foreign minister said.
