More and more foreign tourists in Poland. Three nationalities dominate


For comparison, in 2024 Poland was visited by 19.4 million tourists from other countries. This means an increase of 10-12 percent year to yearalthough final data for 2025 are not yet fully available.

These tourists most often visit Poland
Data from the Central Statistical Office show that in the first ten months of 2025, a total of 36.4 million people used accommodation in Poland — both from home and abroad. That's 10 percent. more than a year earlier. Among them, there were 7.45 million foreigners, which means an increase of 12%.
The largest group were Germans – nearly 1.7 million overnight tourists. The next places were taken by Ukrainians (782 thousand) and the British (647 thousand).. Tourists from… also took high positions USA, Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, France and the Netherlands.

Western guests leave more money
As POT representatives emphasize, Tourists from euro zone countries and the so-called overseas countries. They generate the highest expenses. The average tourist from the USA or Canada leaves almost five times more money in Poland than guests from neighboring countries.
The importance of Lithuania and the Czech Republic is also growingwhich a few years ago were not among the most important markets. Today, both countries are already in the top ten.
Tourism is becoming more and more important for the economy
According to estimates by the World Travel and Tourism Council the tourism sector generated approximately PLN 165 billion of contribution to Polish GDP in 2025, i.e. nearly five percent. the entire economy. A year earlier it was PLN 145 billion.
According to POT Poland attracts tourists primarily with its image as a safe, modern and relatively affordable country. The cities that are most popular are especially Kraków and the Lesser Poland region, where foreign guests are looking for monuments, culture, events and traditional cuisine.
