A famous chef leaves his restaurant. There are allegations of violence and mobbing


According to the newspaper's report, as many as thirty-five former colleagues told about the cases humiliation, intimidation and aggression they experienced at work for many years.

Witnesses quoted by the daily claimed that there was an atmosphere of fear and silence in the restaurant. Some of them reported being beaten or stabbed with a barbecue fork, and aggressive behavior was tolerated for long periods of time.
The publication emphasized that some employees were afraid to talk about the situation publicly due to the enormous prestige of the restaurant and the position of its boss in the world of gastronomy.
The famous chef admits his mistakes
In response to the allegations, Rene Redzepi published a statement on social media in which he admitted that is responsible for his own behavior.
“I am not running away from responsibility, I know how I behaved,” he wrote, also informing about his departure from the restaurant after over 20 years of its operation and success.

The chef also resigned from the management of the MAD Foundation, which supports young people starting a career in the catering industry.
One of the most famous restaurants in the world
Noma, located in Copenhagen, has gained worldwide fame thanks to its experimental Nordic cuisine. The restaurant has repeatedly won the highest gastronomic awards, including Michelin stars and the title of the best restaurant in the world.
However, there have also been controversies in the history of the place. In 2013, there was a mass food poisoning among guests in the restaurant.
A temporary restaurant associated with the Noma brand opened in Los Angeles this week. However, after The New York Times published it, some sponsors began to withdraw support for the project.
