I pour half a pack of this into the kettle: the scale disappears in 20 minutes – it shines like new

Many people are faced with the fact that a dense white coating forms inside the teapot or coffee pot over time. This is scale. It not only spoils the taste of drinks, but also reduces heating efficiency. Even frequent washing does not help if the water is hard.

But there is a simple and safe way to return the kettle to cleanliness. This does not require aggressive means. All it takes is one ingredient from your kitchen cupboard.

How to do it:

  • Pour half a pack of citric acid into the kettle.
  • Pour one liter of cold water.
  • Place on the stove and bring to a boil. Once it boils, turn off the heat.
  • Leave the solution for 15–20 minutes. If there is severe scale, you can wait up to one hour.
  • Drain the liquid and rinse the kettle with warm water. If necessary, wipe with a soft sponge.

Citric acid dissolves limescale without scratching the surface or leaving an odor. After the first procedure, the kettle will sparkle from the inside, and the water will smell clean, not metal.

For prevention, repeat once every two to three weeks. Then the scale will not come back.

Question and answer:

How to remove scale from a kettle without vinegar?
Use citric acid. It is more effective, does not smell and leaves no aftertaste.

Can it be used in an electric kettle?
Yes, but do not boil longer than necessary. After cleaning, boil clean water once or twice.

How much citric acid is needed per liter?
25–30 grams, that is, about half a pack of standard packaging.
