Mass for Francis in Paris. “He influenced us and changed the situation in the church”

In an interview with journalists, the archbishop noticed the crowds in St. Peter Square in Rome, and in Paris, before Notre Dame. This testifies – as he emphasized – of the attachment of the faithful to the person of Pope Francis, who “influenced us and changed the situation in the Church and society.”
Prime Minister Francois Bayrou said after mass that he participated in it because “French institutions are obliged to be present whenever a significant part of society (…) is in mourning.” He added that Franciszek's works and the fact that the Pope was close to the poor and immigrants were close to him.
French President Emmanuel Macron will take part in the funeral of Francis on Saturday. Prime Minister Bayrou fails to go to Rome, but the delegation will include two ministers of his government: Jean-Noel Barrot (head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Bruno Retailleau (who manages the Ministry of the Interior).
