Swedish customs officers confiscated a record amount of cocaine in Helsingborg on the country's west coast – 3 tons. Employees of a fruit and vegetable wholesaler discovered suspicious goods in a container from Latin America.

According to prosecutor Mans Bioerklund, quoted by the “Sydsvenskan” newspaper, the black market value of the drugs found is 2-3 billion crowns (hundreds of millions of euros).
No one has been detained in connection with the case yet – We are at the initial stage of the investigation – emphasized Bioerklund.
The media reminds that the seizure of cocaine in Helsingborg, a key port for importing goods in Scandinavia, is a record in Sweden. Previously, Swedish customs officers foiled the smuggling of 1.3 tons of cocaine in 2024 in Nynaeshamn near Stockholm, where container transhipments from ships also take place. At that time, the dangerous criminal Ismail Abdo, nicknamed “Truskawa”, was behind the organization of this transport.
According to the Helsingborgs Dagblad newspaper, last year a load of 3.5 tons of cocaine was detained in Panama on its way to Helsingborg, and another time the services intercepted 500 kg of cocaine in this Swedish port.
In Sweden, drug trafficking is one of the main sources of income for gangs, which, due to numerous shootings and bomb explosions, have become a serious problem for the country's internal security.
