“The Romanian police fined me because I “disturbed the activities carried out by a group of citizens on the occasion of Romania's national day”.
Citizens who defaced National Day, the Reunification Cathedral, the Union Monument and the National Anthem with their minority political slogans. And because I said a message in disagreement with them, they hit and slapped me. And besides, I'm fined too. I haven't heard anything from those who hit me yet”wrote Adrian Băzăvan on his Facebook page.
He posted a picture of the report he received stating that “On 01.12.2025 time/period 09.00, in the municipality of Alba Iulia (…) he committed the following: Following the statements of witnesses and the images appearing in the public space, it was established that the aforementioned caused a scandal in the above-mentioned place, disrupting the activities carried out by a group of citizens on the occasion of Romania's national day“. For these actions, the man was fined 200 lei, according to the minutes.
We remind you that, during the events in Alba Iulia on December 1, Adrian Băzăvan, from “Tricolor Wolves”publicly accused Călin Georgescu of manipulation and shouted at him “March to Moscow”causing harsh reactions from supporters, who punched and shoved him.
He was also present at the AUR protest on Thursday, January 15, when he shouted the same message, and was then fined 1,000 lei. Later, he explained why he resorted to this gesture.
“It was the day of national culture, which was confiscated again by these people who declare themselves patriots, or declare themselves sovereignists, a word devoid of content and confiscate our national symbols, they wanted to confiscate Romania's National Day, the Cathedral of Reunification, the Union Monument, the National Anthem that they played on the occasion of December 1 and now, more recently, the Day of National Culture and Mihai Eminescu. These national symbols this is not the time for political slogans”he explained in Lucian Mîndruță's podcast.
Asked why in Moscow, he replied: “I think most of them have no direct connection with Russia, but what they say and promote, willy-nilly, fits perfectly with Russia's narrative, let's not arm ourselves, let's not become strong, let's not shoot down the Russian weapons that invade the Romanian airspace (…) These people, unfortunately, forget that our enemy for centuries is Russia, which took our lands, occupied us, raped our women, killed the men, brought communism to us by tank and tried to change our identity”.
“Tricolor Wolves”group of which Adrian Băzăvan is a part, is a relatively new civic organization, which became visible both online and in the public space through a strong patriotic message, centered on national values and symbols such as the tricolor. The members of the group promote an active patriotism, which is not limited to festivities, but involves civic involvement and the defense of the national interest.
