There is no date for Vitkoff’s arrival in Moscow, the Kremlin said. Trump doesn't know about the negotiations at all

According to him, the Kremlin “expects to receive” American negotiators.

“This dialogue is ongoing. As soon as the dates are agreed upon, such a visit, we hope, will take place,” Peskov said.

On January 14, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that Vitkoff and Trump’s daughter’s husband, Jared Kushner, would meet with Putin in Moscow before the end of January.

The head of the White House himself said in an interview with Reuters that Trump said in an interview with Reuters that he knew nothing about the continuation of negotiations between Washington and Moscow in this format.

Witkoff and Kushner last visited Moscow and met with Putin in early December. For about five hours, the parties discussed several projects of a “peace plan” to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war, assistant to the illegitimate Russian president Yuri Ushakov reported after the meeting. According to him, “no compromise was found” on the territorial issue.

Context

On January 6, following a meeting of the “coalition of the willing,” Ukraine, France and Great Britain signed a declaration of intent on the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the end of the war. French President Emmanuel Macron said that within the framework of the “coalition of the willing” they have laid a ceasefire monitoring mechanism to be provided by the United States.

US representatives at the “coalition of the willing” negotiations in Paris did not join the joint statement of security guarantees, Politico noted. Details of US participation in a multinational force for Ukraine were removed from the draft communiqué, journalists say, although in previous versions the US intended to “support forces in the event of an attack” and provide assistance in the field of intelligence and logistics.

On January 8, Axios reported that Trump representatives in France handed over to Putin's negotiator plan for a “peace agreement” for Ukraine.
