Poland against the background of Europe. How do companies deal with the implementation of AI?


Only 5 percent Polish enterprises generate over a quarter of their revenues thanks to artificial intelligence (AI). For comparison, the average for Europe is as much as 22%. – according to the latest Deloitte report. Despite this, more than half of Polish companies invest more than 10%. of its technological budget in the development of AI.

The report entitled “Return on investment in AI: Polish perspective” presents a picture of the Polish artificial intelligence market against the background of Europe. It shows that although Polish companies still lag behind the European average in terms of using AI to generate revenue, 55 percent of them spend over 10%. its technological budget for the development of this technology. At the same time, 20 percent respondents declared that implementing AI allowed them to significantly reduce costs.
Deloitte experts point out that artificial intelligence is increasingly perceived in Poland as a key tool supporting the implementation of business strategies. In 23 percent cases, initiatives related to AI are undertaken by company management boards, and in 90 percent enterprises, responsibility for this area rests with top-level managers.
Polish companies are most likely to implement AI in areas that allow for quick and easy measurement of effects. The priority is to improve operational efficiency, followed by process automation, increasing team productivity and support in data analysis.

More and more employees use AI every day
As the authors of the report emphasize, the Polish AI market is distinguished by a high level of preparation of teams to use tools based on artificial intelligence. Almost half of employees (48%) use AI in their daily work, and in every fourth company, over 60% use these technologies. crew. This is the result of wide access to training, which is more developed in Poland than in many other European countries.
However, the development of AI in Poland encounters significant barriers. The biggest challenge remains the shortage of technical specialists – this problem affects 37%. Polish companies, while in Europe this percentage is 29%.. Additionally, infrastructure limitations and low data quality constitute an obstacle for 37 percent. Polish enterprises, compared to 26 percent in Europe.
There are also concerns about data sovereignty and the localization of AI models. In Poland, this problem is reported by 32 percent. companies, which is higher than the European average of 28%.

The Deloitte report was developed on the basis of a study conducted in 15 countries in Europe and the Middle East. The study involved 1,854 business and technology leaders representing companies with annual revenues exceeding $500 million. and employing at least 1,000 employees. Respondents responsible for decisions regarding AI came from, among others: from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Great Britain and the United Arab Emirates.
