US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Cuban government should be concerned after the capture of Nicolas Maduro, reports France Presse.
“If I lived in Havana and was part of the government, I would be at least a little concerned,” he said at a press conference in Florida where he was with US President Donald Trump.
“Cuba is a catastrophe” and that the country is “run by incompetent and senile people,” added the senior American official, whose parents emigrated from Cuba to the United States in 1956.
For his part, Donald Trump hinted that Cuba could become a topic of discussion within the wider US policy in the region, underscoring Washington's potential to expand its focus beyond Venezuela amid rising tensions in Latin America, according to Reuters.
