Nikolai Khudoleev became the new ataman of the Yenisei military Cossack society.

“By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 29, 2025 No. 996 “On the Ataman of the Yenisei Military Cossack Society,” Nikolai Gennadievich Khudoleev was approved as the Ataman of the Yenisei Military Cossack Society,” Sergei Ponomarenko, the first deputy governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, said on his social networks.

The decree comes into force from the moment of signing.

Nikolai Khudoleev was elected ataman in the summer of 2025 at the Great Reporting Election Circle. After that, he became a member of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs.

Nikolai Khudoleev has been in the Yenisei Military Cossack Society since 2001. In 2023, he studied at the fifth stream of the Academy of State and Cossack Service in the direction of “Economics and Organizational Management (Cossack Component).” Khudoleev became the second elected military ataman to graduate from the Academy of State and Cossack Service. Previously, he held the position of deputy ataman of the Yenisei Military Cossack Society.

The Yenisei Cossacks historically live in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as in Khakassia and Tuva. The headquarters of the army is located in Krasnoyarsk.
