On the eve of the holidays, Gigi Becali clearly outlined his position towards the Romanian head of state, Nicușor Dan, emphasizing his moral traits, not his performance in public office.

The FCSB boss made it clear that for him the character of a man is more important than the image built by him or the position he holds.
Becali said he appreciates simple leaders, without arrogance and without the desire to constantly stand out, to the detriment of those concerned with status, public appearances or validation.

Although he did not hesitate to criticize him in the past, the man with money from FCSB stated that he would prefer such a president, with a reserved attitude and close to the reality of the people, than one perceived as distant.

A few months ago, Gigi Becali noted the modest and open attitude of Nicușor Dan, during the investiture ceremony. The boss of FCSB publicly admitted that, in the past, he criticized Nicușor Dan unfairly and told how he was impressed by the president's reaction.
“If this man sees me talking on the phone and passes by. He's the president of Romania, I've criticized him before, haven't I? And the man passes by, he sees me and turns to shake my hand!
