Survival, not environmental burdens: Business calls for CBAM delay.
Ukrainian industry is now fighting not for development, but for existence itself. Therefore, the state should achieve the postponement of the European CBAM carbon tax, says Yulia Chufistova, a member of the board of the Club of Mayors, director of UMEDA.
“Business is very difficult now. They do not care about climate change – they survive at the production level. If it is possible to postpone the introduction of the SVAM, it would give more chances,” the expert emphasizes.
After agreements on postponement, it will be possible to gradually create conditions for the modernization of enterprises, but now the main thing is to preserve production and jobs.
