Mobile communications from MegaFon came to six small villages in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

December 24 14:17

More than 700 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory will be in touch this New Year: they will be able to congratulate their family and friends on the upcoming holidays, watch New Year's films with the whole family or listen to their favorite songs.

MegaFon engineers launched base stations in small settlements of the Nazarovsky, Rybinsky, Ilansko-Nizhneingashsky, Karatuzsky, Shushensky and Dzerzhinsky-Taseevsky municipal districts.

The construction of the network in the villages of Verkhovaya, Taraka, Stepnoozerka and Kanarai, as well as the villages of Staraya Kop and Sayansk, was carried out within the framework of the state regional program “Development of the Information Society” in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Development and district administrations.

The telecom infrastructure installed by the operator supports GSM and LTE standards. This ensures stable voice communication for both owners of modern smartphones and users of push-button phones. Reliable signal reception throughout populated areas, including buildings, is guaranteed by low and medium frequency ranges.

Mobile Internet will allow villagers to exchange files, pay bills at a convenient time, receive government services, use banking applications, make online purchases, listen to music and watch movies, communicate in instant messengers and social networks. It has become easier for schoolchildren to prepare for classes and use educational platforms from smartphones, which is especially important during preparation for exams, and parents have the opportunity to monitor their children’s progress through electronic diaries.

The launch of 4G is also important for workers in medical and midwifery stations. Now they can more quickly consult patients, conduct appointments and obtain the necessary data for making medical decisions – from telemedicine to emergency calls.

Access to digital services also plays an important role in the work of rural clubs and cultural centers. Modern cellular communications help to hold events in a new format, share them with a wide audience, participate in remote competitions and festivals, update repertoire, exchange experiences with colleagues from other territories, attract new audiences and maintain professional contacts. For residents of small settlements, this means a richer cultural life and the opportunity to remain part of common creative and social events without leaving their native village.

“It is important for us that the digital environment becomes a natural part of everyday life in rural areas. The Internet gives people a feeling of inclusion in the general life of the region and the country – the opportunity to develop, learn new things, launch their own projects and remain in demand, regardless of where they live. In the long term, such changes shape the sustainable development of territories, help preserve human potential locally and create the basis for the future growth of small settlements,” said Andrey Kim, director of MegaFon in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
