The opening date of the Gołębiewski Hotel in Pobierowo has been postponed for many years. In the spring of this year, however, it seemed that the start was really approaching – recruitment had even started then. Meanwhile, the gigantic facility is still a construction site. We have tried to contact the company's representatives, but our messages remain unanswered.
What's happening on site? A giant palm tree awaits guests at the entrance, but the gates are still closed. The hotel stands and looks ready, but you can still see construction machinery nearby. It is clear that they are not ready, among others: all window panes. It is also clear that the surroundings of the facility require work.

However, it is no secret that this was not the only thing that blocked the opening. Moreover, at one stage it was supposedly planned to open only half of the hotel, but this did not happen. However, the investor had endless problems with the authorities.

Recent decisions
However, according to the Architektura Murator website, the hotel owner has already removed all the shortcomings indicated at the earlier stages of construction by the construction supervision inspector and applied for an environmental decision to the Rewal commune. The website adds that such a decision should be issued soon.
Of course, there is no way the hotel will open in 2025. However, there is a new unofficial date of potential opening – the first quarter of next year. However, it is difficult to say whether it will succeed. The investor will certainly be very keen to launch this time before the 2026 holidays – because if it failed, it would mean another lost season and gigantic losses.

Unlucky hotel
The investment started in 2017, but construction works started a year later. The construction was controversial from the beginning due to its size (the facility is to have 1,200 rooms), but also its location – the hotel is located on the beach, in the middle of the forest.
Owning a large hotel by the sea was the ambition of the famous hotelier Tadeusz Gołębiewski. However, plans to quickly complete and open the facility were thwarted by the pandemic. The media reported that at that time the entrepreneur's company was on the verge of financial collapse. These problems were overcome, but Tadeusz Gołębiewski died in mid-2022 and did not live to see the launch of its largest hotel.
The facility has 11 above-ground and two underground floors. It's supposed to be there 1.2 thousand rooms with infrastructure for over 3,000 guests.
There will be theater and cinema halls and, of course, outdoor and indoor swimming pools. There will also be basketball and volleyball courts, courts and a climbing wall. The building's shape is characteristic, resembling two cruise ships connected. It was designed so that most rooms could see the Baltic Sea.
