The abdomen itself is often a problem area, but its volume can increase even more when bloating is added to it. The author of the Healthy (16+) channel on the Zen platform told how to get rid of this problem and reduce a bulging belly.
Factors that cause bloating:
- Haste while eating (swallowing air).
- Excessive eating.
- The combination of fruits and meat, as well as general food incompatibility of products.
Three drinks to help get rid of bloating and tighten your figure:
Dill water. The most popular option, which can be useful during New Year's feasts, when you have to combine a variety of products, which is not always well received by the digestive system.
How to cook:
- Take a bunch of fresh dill, chop it and fill it with warm water.
- Let it brew for 5-10 minutes, after which you can drink.
Mint water. An alternative for those who don't like dill. Mint water has a relaxing effect, relieves muscle tension and reduces the feeling of heaviness, bloating and other unpleasant sensations.
How to cook:
- Take 8-10 fresh mint leaves.
- Tear them lightly with your hands and pour in 300–400 ml of warm water.
- Add a squeeze of lime or lemon.
Chamomile tea. This drink helps reduce bloating and abdominal discomfort. You can use ready-made chamomile tea bags, carefully studying the composition to make sure there are no foreign additives.
Three exercises against bloating and excess volume:
Drinks are good, but exercise can enhance the benefits. Static poses are especially useful.
Wind Release Pose. This exercise is often used to relieve bloating, a feeling of heaviness and normalize digestion.
How to do it:
- Lie on your back on the floor.
- Gently pull each leg in turn toward your chest, wrapping your arms around them.
- Stay in this position for 1-2 minutes, remembering to breathe deeply.
Cat-cow. This pose is widely known and is often used to strengthen the lower back and shape the figure, including reducing the volume of the abdomen. The pose helps reduce abdominal volume by reducing bloating.
How to do it:
- Get on all fours with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Inhale, bend your back down, slightly raising your head and sticking out your stomach.
- Exhale, rounding your back, drawing in your stomach and lowering your head.
- Perform 10–12 repetitions at a slow pace.
Bend forward. Provide a massage effect, improve digestion and reduce bloating, heaviness and discomfort.
How to do it:
- Sit on the floor.
- Pull one leg towards you and extend the other forward.
- Extend your arms above your head.
- As you exhale, bend forward toward the toes of your outstretched leg.
- Hold the position for 4–5 breathing cycles.
- Switch legs and repeat.
