A former journalist at the Dreptatea, Cotidianul, Evenimentul Zilei and România Liberă newspapers, Simona Popescu had produced a show on Radio Romania Antena Satelor in recent years, writes PaginadeMedia.

“If you are reading these lines, it means that I have definitively lost my long battle with cancer…”. This is the message that appeared on Tuesday on the journalist's Facebook page, now managed by her family.

“I think that the 35 years in the press were my contribution to a better world. And I think that I have done enough. My main belief in life was honesty. And only those who know me well know what sacrifices I made to keep it untainted. My biggest regret is that I left the ones I loved the most in this world alone: my husband and my daughter. It will be very difficult for them. If they are people with a soul, who cared about me, I ask them to help them in need. From now on, I can't do it anymore”, it is shown in her last message.
