Students of the specialized RusHydro class, created at the Center for Additional Education with the support of the Boguchanskaya HPP, took part in all-Russian competitions and competitions in engineering and technical creativity in the second half of the year.

The winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian competition “#BrighterTogether” was 11th grade student Stepan Chudakov. For a competition in the thematic area “Engineer sounds proud!” he wrote an essay “My calling is an energy engineer,” in which he shared his impressions of visiting Russian hydroelectric power stations, communicating with young employees of different stations and studying at the Summer Energy School (LESS) of RusHydro.

“I firmly decided that after graduating from school I would enter an energy university. I want to become part of the generation that will renew the Russian energy sector, preserving the best traditions of the engineering school and introducing advanced technologies. The proud title of “energy engineer” is not just words. This is responsibility for the light in homes, for the work of enterprises, for the future of entire regions. And I am ready to bear this responsibility,” Stepan wrote.

Three schoolchildren from Kodinsk took part in the work of LES in the summer of 2025 – Stepan Chudakov, Maxim Kior and Sergei Priymachuk. During the shift, which lasted 11 days, the future power engineers worked on a practical task – they developed models that clearly demonstrated the advantages of hydroelectric power stations. The interactive stand “Build a hydroelectric power station” won the competition. Save the Farm,” with which Sergei Priymachuk’s team described the idea of building flood control hydroelectric power stations.

In the spring of 2025, five students from the Kodin RusHydro class prepared research projects on the development of energy in the Far East. All of them successfully passed the selection to participate in the profile session “Start Energy”, which worked at the All-Russian Children's Center “Ocean” (Vladivostok) in October-November. Over the course of three weeks, schoolchildren studied the principles of energy production from renewable sources, participated in master classes and developed visual aids for primary school students. New knowledge was useful to students of the specialized class during the competition to design Goldberg machines, which are held among all RusHydro classes in the country.

The RusHydro-class project started in Kodinsk in 2011, eleven editions took place. Schoolchildren receive additional knowledge in mathematics and physics, study the operation of the unified energy system, energy saving methods and other disciplines. Meetings with station employees and excursions to the Boguchanskaya HPP are regularly held; power engineers hold creative and technical competitions for schoolchildren, and invite them to intellectual tournaments and other corporate events.

Successful training is facilitated by comprehensive technical support under the Program of Charitable and Sponsorship Activities of Boguchanskaya HPP JSC. Using the station's funds, the Center updates furniture, equipment and training programs. In 2025, the Center for Educational and Cultural Education acquired a virtual reality class, in which schoolchildren acquire and develop new skills as part of the “Career Guidance” course.

RusHydro-class is one of the mechanisms for implementing the program for advanced development of human resources “From the New School to the Workplace”. The project has been implemented since 2010 in the regions where RusHydro Group operates on the basis of partner educational organizations. The goal of the project is vocational guidance for schoolchildren in grades 9-11, popularization of the energy profession, familiarization with the energy industry and the activities of the RusHydro Group, as well as support for students’ engineering and technical creativity. During the implementation of the project, 85% of Energy Class graduates chose specialized areas of study in technical universities, including in the Company’s partner universities: MPEI, Volzhsky branch of MPEI, Sayano-Shushensky branch of Siberian Federal University, and regularly undergo internships at the Company’s power facilities. In 2025, all nine graduates of the specialized class from Kodinsk successfully entered universities on budget places.
