Andrei Borza (20 years old) returned to the field after a break of 3 months. Rapid's left defender entered the the 46th minute with Oțelullost 0-2, in place of Robert Bădescu.

Borza recovered from the injury suffered in September in the training camp of the national team. He is fully fit even before the derby with FCSB on December 21.

Andrei Borza returned to the field at Rapid after 3 months

In September, Borza went to the national team, from where he returned to the club injured. What happened? The left defender was stepped on by Darius Hîmpea, one of the physical trainers from the Romanian team, and suffered a fracture of the little toe. He needed surgery, out of the circuit until the penultimate stage of the year.

Borza entered the break in place of Bădescu, who had a modest first half with Oțelul. On his return, Andrei was active, often going up in the attack, a sign that the finger problem has disappeared.

For Rapid, Borza's return to the field is excellent news a week before the derby with FCSB, the last game of 2025. There are good chances that the 20-year-old defender will start in the game at the National Arena on December 21.

In the match against Botoșani, from the last stage, Borza was an unused reserve. Costel Gâlcă decided, however, not to leave him on the bench for 90 minutes with Oțelul. It was game number 9 this Superliga season for the full-back. He missed 12 Ligue 1 matches due to injury.

During Borza's absence, the left defender at Rapid was Robert Bădescu. Gâlca also used Onea and Braun there, right defenders at the base.
