The stake of the current scandal, started after the Recorder documentary “Captured Justice”, is for those who canceled the 2024 elections “to put the heads of prosecutors and control the next arrests”, accuses the president of AUR George Simion in a post made on Friday evening on Facebook.
George Simion attacked the Recorder immediately after the publication of the documentary “Captured Justice”. In the new reaction published on Friday evening, the leader of the opposition demands: “Justice is seized like the whole state. The return of Mrs. Kovesi from February is not the solution. Down with the Government and early elections, not dust in the eyes!”.
The former head of DNA Laura Codruța Kovesi, who now heads the European Public Prosecutor's Office, signed on Friday the list of 518 prosecutors and judges who declare solidarity with the magistrates who made the revelations in the Recorder documentary, the name is at the top of the list.
“It's not about justice for Romanians. It's not about cleaning up justice, it's about grabbing even more of justice. There are irregularities. They saved Vanghelie,” accuses George Simion in a video shared on Facebook.
He accuses that those who are now enjoying the appearance of the documentary have no solutions to solve the problems in the judiciary.
“People who are biased, people who have been corrupt from the judiciary for a long time could be removed because you had the Ministry of Justice through Mrs. Kovesi (no. head of the DNA), because you had the Ministry of Justice through Stelian Ion, because you are the ones who called for an independent judiciary,” the AUR president also said.
George Simion's request
As he says in the description of the post, George Simion calls for the change of the government, which he accuses of imposing new and new taxes on Romanians.
“A real and lasting solution: this PSD-USR government must be democratically voted down,” said Simion.
A motion of censure against the Bolojan government, initiated by the PACE parliamentary group with the support of AUR, is to be voted on Monday in the assembled plenary session of the Parliament. The opposition does not have the required number of 233 out of 465 votes to dismiss the executive.
