In the Shushensky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the court sentenced a local resident who gave up a seized car for debts. This was reported by the press service of the bailiffs in the region.
According to the department, the 30-year-old man repeatedly violated traffic rules while drunk. Due to violations, he was prosecuted under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
“Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Shushensky” seized the vehicle of a persistent offender, left a safe receipt for the owner and warned him of liability under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal actions in relation to property subject to inventory or arrest or subject to confiscation.” Next, the Shushensky District Court made a decision to confiscate the domestic brand VAZ 21150 car, owned by the offender, into the ownership of the state,” the department clarified.
When the confiscation document was submitted for execution, the debtor was summoned to a personal reception. It turned out that the man handed over the seized car to the owner of a specialized parking lot to pay off the debt for towing and storage.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated against the debtor.
The court, having examined the case materials, sentenced the man to one year of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of one year.
