In Krasnoyarsk, the results of the All-Russian action “Memory Watch – 2025” were summed up, and the personal merits of the fighters and the collective achievements of the search teams were noted at the event.
The regional agency for youth policy and implementation of social development programs said that this year 266 children from the region took part in 22 search expeditions. During the field season, young boys and girls carried out large-scale work on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War. The detachments worked in the Volgograd, Leningrad, Novgorod and Tver regions.
As a result, the remains of 268 Red Army soldiers were discovered. The curator of the search teams of the regional branch of the Search Movement of Russia, Svetlana Bodikova, noted that the finds of eight mortal medallions are of particular importance:
“This year’s work has produced deeply personal, tangible results. Relatives for two medallions have already been found, we transferred one of them to the Kirov region. At the request of the family, we will bury the medallion of another fighter, a native of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, with honors here in our homeland. The search for loved ones continues for two medallions; four are being examined. In addition, a medal “For Courage” of a soldier from the Oryol region was discovered. Each such discovery is a restored family history and a fulfilled duty to the fallen.”
On the Day of the Unknown Soldier, active participants in the search movement were awarded. The commanders and participants received letters of gratitude from the regional governor, Mikhail Kotyukov. Several activists were awarded medals “80 Years of Victory”, “In the Name of Life” and “For Active Citizenship”.
In addition, the director of the House of Officers, Dmitry Shumov, and the commander of the search detachment named after Ivan Guzhelenko (Nazarovo), Alexander Guzhilenko, received the award “For Distinction in the Search Movement”, III degree. This badge was established by the Russian Ministry of Defense and is awarded for a major contribution to establishing the names of the dead and the fate of missing military personnel.
The search movement in the Krasnoyarsk Territory has been receiving regional support for several years. For example, every year a meeting of search teams of the Siberian Federal District takes place at the regional center for patriotic education “Yunarmiya”.
“This is hard and painstaking work. I am grateful to the activists of our regional branch of the Search Movement of Russia for their caring attitude towards the history of the country and preserving the memory of fallen heroes. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, this is especially valuable,” emphasized the head of the region, Mikhail Kotyukov.
Let us remind you that last year 196 representatives of 20 search teams of the Krasnoyarsk Territory went on expeditions. Activists raised and buried the remains of 328 soldiers.
