Journalist Mihai Stegerean, the former editor-in-chief of B1 TV news, died on Monday, December 1, at the age of 50, B1 TV reports.
Mihai Stegerean was suffering from “a cruel disease” and had been hospitalized for several days, according to B1 TV. The announcement of the death was made by the journalist's family, on his Facebook page.
“With torn hearts, we announce that Mihai Stegerean has passed away. As of today, Mihai remains only a memory… in fact, many. The memory of a friend with a big heart and an equally big mouth, always on the sidelines, but without a trace of malice; the memory of an unsparing reporter and a producer who knew how to make you better even when you had no energy left. A man who could not bear to be pitied, because he healed himself the wounds alone and always found the strength to stand up”, the family said on Mihai Stegerean's Facebook page.
The lifeless body will be deposited tomorrow, December 2 between 14-22 at the Mogoșoaia 2 Church chapel. The funeral service will take place on December 3, at 11:30, at the Mogoșoaia 2 Church.
“Mihai leaves behind a deeply grieving wife and three daughters, whom he loved above all else and for whom he was a dedicated, gentle and present father every day,” the family also sent to the journalist.
Mihai Stegerean entered the press in 1995, as a reporter at Pro TV. Then, one by one, he was the producer of the 19.00 Observatorio from Antena 1, the head of news at Digi, general producer of B1 TV, then a consultant at Kanal D news.
He returned to B1 TV at the end of 2015, serving as editor-in-chief until 2022, when he decided to leave television to devote himself to a family business.
