The comedy “Maslenitsa” with famous actors began filming in Krasnoyarsk

Work on the full-length film “Maslenitsa” has started in Krasnoyarsk. Starring Valentina Lyapina (“Peace! Friendship! Chewing Gum!”, “Eterna”), Alexander Samoilenko (“Slave”, “Daddy’s Daughters”), Nikolai Naumov (“Real Boys”) and Chinese actor Wu Haotian.

Let us remind you that the film tells the story of a girl who dreams of a trip to China. After an unsuccessful selection for an exchange program, the heroine has one last chance to get into the country – to introduce a Chinese student to the traditions of Maslenitsa week.

Filming will take place on Tatyshev Island, where a fair town will be built, as well as on the Communal Bridge, at the airport and other sites. More than 400 Krasnoyarsk residents will be involved in crowd scenes.

“To be honest, I have never participated in Maslenitsa festivities, so when I read the script, I liked the way they were described so much that I really wanted, firstly, to visit the real Maslenitsa myself, and secondly, to show this holiday to the viewer, who also, perhaps, knows little about it. I realized that my generation and the younger generation are little familiar with this Russian tradition. But she is so wonderful,” the film commission of the Krasnoyarsk Territory shares the words of actress Valentina Lyapina.

The family comedy will be released on March 8, 2027.
