A major breakdown occurred during the morning of Sunday, January 4, at CET Sud – ELCEN, leaving thousands of residents of the capital without heat and hot water in the middle of winter. The incident mainly affects sectors 2 and 3 and partially sectors 4 and 5, some of the consumers in Sector 4 being temporarily assigned to CET Progresul.
According to Termoenergetica, the breakdown was caused by problems with the boiler-turbine that heats hundreds of liters of water, which makes it possible to resume the supply of the heating agent after the remedial work is completed, around January 7. It will then take approximately 24 hours for hot water and heat temperatures to return to normal in all hot spots and affected homes.
“According to ELCEN, the estimated deadline for the repair of the damage is January 7. Then, after the completion of the work and the restart of the boiler-turbine, an interval of approximately 24 hours is necessary for the temperature of the heating agent to reach normal parameters in all the affected thermal points and in your houses”, Termoenergetica sent, on Sunday, in a post on Facebook.
This is not the first breakdown in this cold season, the most recent being on December 27, when, as now, thousands of Bucharest residents from sectors 2 and 3, as well as partially from sectors 4 and 5, were left without hot water and heat due to a similar failure.
