“KrasKom” increased the volume of water supplied to the Oktyabrsky district of Krasnoyarsk so that at the Sopka MSK it could be used to make snow cover on the most difficult freestyle and snowboarding trails.
This year, due to the changeable weather of the warm autumn, the snowmaking systems of the Sopka cluster were launched a little later than usual. Snow generators began to work actively with the onset of cold weather. Over the past 24 hours, KrasKom supplied about 8 thousand cubic meters of drinking water for the production of snow covering the most difficult ski slopes, where professional freestyle and snowboarding competitions take place.
City residents can ski on snow made of droplets of tap water on one slope – parallel slalom. They plan to prepare it for the New Year holidays. Until spring, the slalom track will be available to amateur skiers on weekends.

“In total, during the winter season, we supply about 200 thousand cubic meters of water from the Kazachiy Island water intake to the Nikolaevskaya Hill to create artificial snow in addition to natural snow,” says Oleg Goncherov, general director of KrasKom. — To date, all communal facilities created for the Universiade continue to properly serve Krasnoyarsk residents and guests of our city. The pipeline on Svobodny Ave., which we built to make snow on the ski tracks, took the load on the drinking water supply of new buildings in the Oktyabrsky district, and the water supply and sewer networks on the street. Lesnikov for “Platinum Arena” provide the technical opportunity for the development of the microdistrict. “Quiet Dawns”
