“Maybe we win the group, why not?” » Romania's goal scorer, full of optimism after the success with Japan

Sorina Grozav (26 years old) had an excellent performance in Romania's victory against Japan, score 31-27in the second match of the Women's Handball World Championship. At the end of the game, the main scorer of the “tricolors” spoke about Romania's second success and showed her optimism before the derby with Denmark on Monday, December 1, at 21:30.

Romania had a very complicated game with Japan, a national team that never gave up, alternated offensive and defensive tactics and tried to confuse Ovidiu Mihăilă's team.

But our players showed their worth, handled the difficult moments very well and finally prevailed 31-27, securing at least 2 points in the main group. One of the handball players who had a significant contribution was Sorina Grozav, author of 8 goals.

“It was something fantastic, an incredible atmosphere and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts! I think the contribution of the fans matters. Regardless of what we do on the field, they are always with us”, she began her statement, praising the Romanian supporters.

Next, Grozav explained what worked and what didn't in Romania's game today:

“I think the defense didn't go very well today and it showed, but we have a day to work on it and I hope we look better on Monday. I think we are doing pretty well in attack, but defense is the most important thing in the game of handball.”

In the last match of group A, Romania will face Denmark, a force in world handball, but the Corona Brașov team remains optimistic:

“We have another difficult match that starts at 0-0, we don't know what will happen. Maybe we win the group, why not? I hope we get a good result in the main group and move on”.

At the end, Grozav sent a message to the fans before the game that will take place on December 1, on the national day.

“I hope, it will matter a lot and I think it will be the greatest joy for the Romanians to get a nice result and go with all the points. Please come in large numbers to be with us, we love you and thank you for all the support we have!“, concluded the goal scorer of the “tricolors”.
