In Krasnoyarsk, they want to send a 16-year-old mother-child killer to a mental hospital

In Krasnoyarsk, they want to send a 16-year-old girl who brutally killed her newborn child to a psychiatric hospital. The Investigative Committee spoke about this.

Everything happened on February 12, 2025. At night, a pregnant girl, while in an apartment on Lvovskaya Street, felt pain in her stomach, told her mother about a supposed attack of gastritis, after which she retired to the toilet, where she gave birth to a girl on her own. In order to hide the fact of childbirth, she placed the newborn in a bag and threw it into the garbage chute.

The arriving ambulance team hospitalized the schoolgirl with a suspected miscarriage. A young Krasnoyarsk woman was admitted to the hospital in serious condition and bleeding. After examination, the girl confessed to the doctors about the crime she had committed.

Later, law enforcement officers found out that in 2024, the schoolgirl became pregnant by her 18-year-old boyfriend. The girl found out that she was pregnant when she had a fight and broke up with the young man. Fearing condemnation from others, she hid her pregnancy in every possible way: she did not seek medical help and did not register with the antenatal clinic.

The examination confirmed that the schoolgirl’s child was born alive. The baby's death occurred after birth as a result of aspiration of amniotic fluid.

On this fact, a criminal case was opened under Art. 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a newborn child by a mother). The investigation has now been completed. All materials will be transferred to the prosecutor's office, and then to the court for consideration on the merits.

The girl was found to have a mental disorder. The issue of applying a compulsory medical measure to the young Krasnoyarsk woman will be decided by the judge.
