I pour it onto a baking sheet and into the oven – the laziest pie: eaten while the kettle is boiling

It happens that you want homemade baked goods, but you just don’t have the strength to fuss with the dough. For such a case, there is a recipe for the laziest pie. The dough is simply poured onto a baking sheet, the filling is fried in a couple of minutes, and everything goes into the oven. It cooks quickly and is eaten even faster. By the time the kettle boils, there is nothing left of the pie. Our reader shared the recipe with us.

What you will need for the test

The products are the most common, everything is in any refrigerator:

  • Wheat flour – 400 grams
  • Kefir – 500 ml
  • Eggs – 4 pieces
  • Vegetable oil – 120 ml
  • Soda – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds – optional (for sprinkling)

For the filling

  • Young cabbage – 800 grams
  • Tomato paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – half a teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil for frying – 3-4 tablespoons
  • Spices – to taste
  • Any greens (parsley, dill, garlic, green onions) – mixed with ready-fried cabbage

How to cook: step by step

Mix all ingredients for the dough in a deep bowl. The consistency should be liquid – about the same as pancakes or a little thinner. There is no need to knead or roll out anything.

Chop the cabbage and fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil. Add tomato paste, salt and spices. At the very end, remove from heat and mix with finely chopped herbs.

Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it with oil. Pour a third of the batter into the bottom.

Spread all the filling evenly on top.

And pour in the remaining dough – it will completely cover the cabbage. If desired, you can sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

The finished pie is soft, juicy and very aromatic. They eat it both warm and cold – in any form it disappears from the table instantly.
