What not to eat for breakfast
Sausages or other processed meats
Nutritionist Roxanne Ehsani argues that such products are not the best choice for breakfast. In particular, sausages contain too much sodium, which can increase blood pressure.
Moreover, they also contain saturated fats, which have a harmful effect on the health of the heart and blood vessels. The expert emphasizes that eating processed meat is associated with the risk of developing cancer and chronic diseases.
Sweet cereal
According to nutritionist Kelly McGrane, if you start your morning with a bowl of sugary cereal, you'll feel hungry again too quickly. This is explained quite simply – such products are made from refined flour, which contains a very small amount of fiber. There is also a lot of sugar in the cereal and virtually no protein.
Juices and flavored coffee drinks
They usually contain large amounts of sugar, but practically no other nutrients. Nutritionist Maggie Michalczyk claims that it is better to replace them with natural coffee, to which you can add a little honey and almond milk.
Experts also recommend avoiding store-bought juices and drinking only freshly squeezed ones for breakfast. Firstly, they contain a lot of sugar, which can be dangerous to your health.
Wheat bread
Nutritionist Don Jackson Blatner says that wheat bread, unlike whole grain bread, has a negative impact on blood sugar levels. Its consumption first sharply increases energy, and then just as quickly decreases. If you make avocado toast for breakfast, be sure to use whole grain bread. And don't forget to add protein.
Cupcakes
These baked goods contain a lot of calories, as well as sugar and saturated fat. In addition, muffins contain virtually no protein, and therefore are not able to provide a long-term feeling of fullness.
