Fuel worth 2 billion rubles will be purchased for Krasnoyarsk gas buses

A tender was announced in Krasnoyarsk for the purchase of gas for new buses with a price of 2 billion rubles.
The documents indicate that the agreement will be valid for 5 years. During this period, the supplier must provide Krasnoyarsk passenger motor transport enterprise No. 5 with 41 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas. There should be 20 tons of fuel at the gas station every day. This amount can be increased if necessary.
The procurement documents indicate that the company will provide the supplier with a plot of land to install a gas station, and he must carry out its connection and improvement, as well as install a degassing station. The documents stipulate that only city buses will be able to use the gas station. Access to third parties is prohibited. It will be possible to refuel 2 buses at the same time.
Krasnoyarsk City Council deputy Semyon Sendersky believes that the purchase is questionable. He was confused by the gas volume figure. He calculated that with consumption of 20 tons per day, in a year the result is 7.3 thousand tons, and in 5 years – 36.5 thousand tons.
But the most important question is why the gas station remains in the hands of the contractor.
“Having studied the documents more carefully, I discovered an important point: the same purchase included the construction of a specialized gas station. And the most interesting thing is that after the completion of the work, it is not indicated anywhere that it goes to the balance of the city; it is likely that the property remains the property of the contractor. In this case, a logical question arises: why is the municipal infrastructure necessary for the operation of public transport transferred to private hands?” the deputy noted.
Semyon Sendersky plans to raise this issue at the relevant commission in the City Council.
Let us remind you that by the end of 2025, 150 gas-powered buses will travel around Krasnoyarsk; the mayor’s office ordered another 55 from the Belarusian MAZ plant. They must be delivered to the regional capital before April 1, 2026.
