In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, work is being done to prepare a new textbook that will tell schoolchildren about the history of the region. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Education.
What the regional history textbook will be like is being decided by experts at a conference taking place these days in Krasnoyarsk. Especially for this purpose, famous historians, scientists and public figures from 27 regions of the Russian Federation came to the regional center. The purpose of the event is to improve the quality of textbooks on the history of the native land, to develop uniform approaches and methods for the whole country.
“Creating regional textbooks is a complex task in terms of selecting content and technology for presenting material. The publication should contain references to verified information resources and reflect the main events of the native land,” said Konstantin Derevyanko, Deputy Chairman of the Council under the President of Russia for the Implementation of State Policy in the Sphere of Supporting the Russian Language and the Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.
Let us recall that from September 1, 2025, a new course “History of our region” appeared in Russian schools, which is included in the educational subject “History” in grades 5–7. On the recommendation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, children will study this course in the fourth quarter. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an entire group of authors was created to prepare a new textbook, which included history teachers, specialists from the regional Institute for Educational Development and teachers from the KSPU named after. V. P. Astafieva.
The team has already prepared methodological recommendations for conducting such lessons based on the age of the student. The regional budget provides funds for the publication of the first manuscript of the textbook. It must pass federal examination.
“The purpose of the regional history textbook is to tell children about the history of their native land through the real destinies of our great fellow countrymen. The future publication will definitely include biographies of contemporaries – Viktor Astafiev, Mikhail Reshetnev, Dmitry Hvorostovsky and heroes of the Northern Military District,” noted the region’s Minister of Education Tatyana Gridasova.
We would like to add that the conference will last until November 19. The organizers are the Russian Military Historical Society together with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
