According to Chip.de, potential corrosion of the wishbones may occur in the Proace and Proace Verso models. This may lead to breakage of the mounting screws, which in turn may result in unpredictable behavior of the vehicle on the road. This is a threat to drivers, passengers and other road users.
“Corrosion of the sleeve may cause the fastening screw to break, which leads to unpredictable driving behavior and deterioration of steering ability,” explains the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), quoted by Chip.de.
166 thousand cars for repair. Toyota's big service campaign
As part of the service campaign organized by Toyota, the wishbone bolts and bushings will be replaced. The entire procedure will take about an hour and will be free of charge. The manufacturer assures that so far there have been no reports of property damage or personal injury related to this issue.
In Poland from January to October 2025: Total registered 3,340 pieces of the Proace model (in various versions). Throughout 2024, it was this 3,109 pieces. This model was also sold in previous years, so there may be about a dozen thousand such cars on our roads.

As Chip.de explains, the withdrawal of Toyota vehicles is the result of cooperation with the Stellantis Group, which is responsible for the production of the twin models Peugeot Traveler, Expert, Citroën Jumpy and Spacetourer. Stellantis has already launched similar measures for its vehicles in 2025. The only difference between Toyota models and their French counterparts is the brand logo.
As Chip.de reminds, similar service campaigns also affect other manufacturers. An example is the Audi brand, which is struggling with problems in the A8, Q7 and Q8 models, where the risk of vehicle fires forced corrective actions to be taken. This shows that even the biggest brands are not free from technical challenges.
