Szijjártó said that Hungary will send €1.5 million from the European Peace Fund to Lebanon, not Ukraine

According to him, Hungary's national interest is stability in the Middle East, and in particular the security of Lebanon plays a key role in this context.

“We want all people in the Middle East to regain their fundamental human right – the right to live safely without terrorist attacks and without external interference,” he said in a statement.

Szijjártó noted that the European Union is funding the rearmament of the Ukrainian army through the European Peace Fund, which Hungary does not support.

“Lebanon can count on us,” wrote the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
