The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, said on Saturday that in the authorizations of the dental clinic in Bucharest where a 2-year-old girl died on Thursday, “everything appeared in order”, but “what was written in the documents was not happening in reality”, reports Agerpres.

In a press conference in Ploiesti, the official said that that clinic lacked “minimum necessary infrastructure elements” to be able to perform general anesthesia in dental interventions.

“I didn't say that they didn't have the authorizations in order, I said that what was written in the documents was not happening in reality. That is, more precisely in the authorization everything appeared in order, and in reality there were no important elements, minimally necessary as infrastructure, to be able to provide general anesthesia in the case of dental interventions”, declared Minister Rogobete.

He specified that the report of the Control Body and the State Sanitary Inspection in the Ministry of Health will be completed on Monday.

“Then I will obviously communicate what their result is and in which direction I will go from an administrative point of view, but do not forget that there is also an ongoing investigation by the General Prosecutor's Office. Basically, we will hand over all the documents to them”, explained the Minister of Health.

The minister had said that the said office did not comply with the legislation

On Friday, Alexandru Rogobete had stated that the two-year-old girl who died on Thursday, after being given deep sedation, was treated in a second location of the clinic, opposite the main building, which does not “respect the regulations and legislation in force”.

The representatives of Crystal Dental Clinic claim that for the new premises of the clinic where deep sedation interventions were performed, “approval and authorization procedures are underway, according to the legal stages provided”, and “these steps were known and monitored by the competent institutions”.

The preliminary conclusions of the autopsy, submitted by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court, showed that the girl had a “complex pre-existing chronic pathology”.

The Special Telecommunications Service stated that there were three calls to 112. The girl's parents had said that she went into cardio-respiratory arrest at 17:30 (Thursday), and the call to 112 was made by the clinic very late, with the ambulance arriving after an hour and a half. According to STS, the clinic's first call to 112 was at 6:41 p.m.
